Each team shall consist of two pairs.
Each pair shall play both of the opposing pairs in a best of three sets rubber, with tie-breaks at 6-6 in the first two sets and if one set all, a championship tiebreak to be played (first to 10 points with two points separating). On the results card this should be shown as 1-0, example 6-4, 3-6, 1-0. The championship tiebreak counts as both one game and one set when totalling the games, sets and rubbers won/lost. |
2 |
One point shall be awarded for each rubber won. Rubbers not completed for any reason other than bad weather shall be forfeited by the team unable to complete. |
3 |
Matches should be played on the due date unless there is bad weather or courts are not available because of prior commitments. Teams able to name only one pair should play the match on the due date but forfeit to their opponents the two rubbers not played 0-6 0-6. Teams unable to name even one pair shall forfeit the match 0-4 to their opponents. |
4 |
Should a team need to forfeit three or more matches in one season, then all the points they have won that season shall not be counted and they will be relegated to the next lower division. Points won by opponents against that team shall not be counted. |
5 |
All first half matches shall be played by 31st December and second half matches by 31st May unless agreed with the League Organiser. |
6 |
The division winners shall be decided on points won. If there is a tie, then sets won will be taken into account, with the team with the higher number of sets for being considered to finish higher than a team with a lower number of sets for. If there is still a tie, then the team with the lower number of sets against will finish higher than the team with a higher number of sets against. If at this stage there is still a tie, then games won will be considered and then games against to decide a winner. |

| At the end of the season, the top two teams will be promoted and the two lowest teams relegated. |
7 |
Where clubs have more than one team, whether in the same division or not, any player who has played three times for a higher team may not play for a lower team that season. Where a club has two or more teams in the same division, the ‘A’ team shall be considered higher than the ‘B’ team and the ‘B’ higher than the ‘C’. Where a club has more than one team, the team in the higher division shall be known as the ‘A’ team. |

Nominated players may not play for a lower team this season although they may play in a higher team, subject to the above ‘three times’ condition. Players not nominated to a team may play in any team, again subject to the above ‘three times’ condition. It is a rule that all nominated players will play for the team to which they are nominated at least once in each half of the winter. If a nominated player does not play for the team to which they are nominated, that team shall lose two points per non-playing nominated player per half unless there has been an injury/illness or other genuine reason. Please contact the league organiser if you have a problem. |
9 |
No player may play for more than one club in one winter season. |
10 |
As the season draws to a close, matches that will affect promotion or relegation should be played in full. It is inappropriate that a team be promoted or saved from relegation by their opponents conceding rubbers. However, on occasion there may be situations where to follow this rule explicitly will be unfair to a team which can play on the due date but would have to field a weaker team on an altered date. Each such situation will be considered on its merits |

As the league is no longer sponsored, any recognisable brand of tennis balls (new) shall be provided by the home team. Matches will be played on outdoor courts. |
12 |
The home team is responsible for entering the result on mydivision.com within three days of the match play date, with the away team confirming the result. Any match not played on the due date must be notified to the league organiser so the fixture may be updated on mydivision.com. |
